Minority leader McConnell says GOP goal is to make Obama fail
- Created Nov 04, 2010
Republican Minority leader, Mitch McConnell said, "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president," according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution. Like a spoiled child holding their breath until they get their way, GOP leader Senator Mitch McConnell does not feel that representing and serving the American people should be the goal of the Republican Party.
Instead, the leader of the party of "No" has finally come out and said what many have suspected since Barack Obama won the White House. McConnell's statement explains the GOP obstructionism that has crippled efforts to revive the economy, appoint leaders to key administrative positions, and move forward with new legislation.
Since the GOP took the majority in Congress in the November 2nd elections, much of their rhetoric has been focused on moving backward. Repealing health care reform tops some Republicans' lists. With hyperinflation threatening on the horizon, unemployment still at the heart of Americans' frustration, the budget deficit a looming threat to our economic future, and banks still slow to loan money to grow the economy, an agenda focused on revenge against President Obama for winning the Oval Office could cause irreparable harm to the United States.
