UPDATE: 12:10 PM
Authorities have confirmed that the bodies of one woman and two children were found inside of a Denver home. Another child is in the hospital listed in critical condition.
Police say that both of the dead children are less than 10 years old. Investigators believe that the shooting is an isolated incident and no suspect is at large. Details are still sketchy at this time and police have not released many new details.
"This is the horror of the whole country. There are all these shootings," said Jose Rojas, pastor of Providence Bible Church. "I think it's too much, too much to see innocent people being killed."
Members of the church were seen gathering for a prayer vigil near the scene of the incident.
"Basically, we pray for the community," said Rojas
Debbie Martinez, a neighbor, said that the home was recently sold and two adults and three children moved in. Martinez told reporters that the residents of the home seemed to be nice, outgoing people.
It is still unclear what relation the woman was to the children, what led to the shootings or the whereabouts of the second adult purportedly living in the home. Police are still at the scene investigating.
Denver police officials said on Wednesday that children are among the dead in what is possibly a murder-suicide.
Police Chief Robert White said that three people were killed including two children after a shooting at a home in northeast Denver near East 49th Avenue and Pearl Street. A third child was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries according to Lt. Matt Murray.
It is unclear when the shooting took place or if the victims are related at this time. Police have not released any other details.
