Thursday at 2:30 p.m., ad:tech’s Startup Spotlight Series will be showcasing four innovative startup companies in their Target Social Video & TV Challenge. In partnership with Target, the judges selected just four businesses out of hundreds which entered. During this session, attendees will hear each of the startup’s pitches, learn about up-and-coming social video technology, see what Target looks for in new product and services pitches and watch who is crowned the winner. The winning startup will be awarded the ad:tech Innovation Award and get the opportunity to take their pitch in-house at Target.

Here are the four startups that will be going head to head.

SecondScreen Networks – There’s been a lot of buzz lately about “second screen” viewing, allowing people to surf their mobile devices or tablets while watching television. Headquartered in New York, NY, SecondScreen Networks has taken advantage of this concept and is reaching the large social TV audiences in real time with high-engagement fashion through their portable devices. The company uses advanced video fingerprinting tools to identify commercials airing in real time and then serving their network of TV companion app and website publishers with rich media ads that coincide with the TV spot currently airing.

uStudio, Inc. – Originally a video content making firm, uStudio, Inc. transformed themselves into a one-of-a-kind business that offers clients an incredibly simple solution for managing video content across the world. They help clients to ingest, format, distribute and track their digital assets and put them in control of their video marketing.

Idomoo – This global pioneer of customer communication via personalized video, Idomoo integrates highly personalized videos with individually-relevant info, offers and services that cater to personal usage, interests and needs. They serve clients worldwide and can improve the customer care, sales, retention and loyalty of a business’s clientele.

PrePlay – PrePlay accommodates the TV lover in us all and creates mobile and tablet games designed and engineered to enhance the experience of watching award, reality and talent shows, sports, and a large variety of other television genres. Their team allows users to compete in worldwide social contests that involve predicting the outcomes of events as they unfold on live television.
