Mitt Romney may be worse than we thought. It’s common knowledge he flip-flops, panders shamelessly, will use a dead Navy SEAL for political gain, hides his tax returns like its Fort Knox, outsourced jobs and hides his money in the Caribbean/ Switzerland, has been called a "well lubricated weather-vane," an “Etch-a-Sketch” and a “liar” by his own party-- but this new video starring Mittens tips the scale into dangerous right-wing fanatic territory.
The good sleuths over at Mother Jones website have unearthed another video of Romney. No this time he is not insulting half of the hard-working folks in American; he is singing the lofty praises of someone he calls “a statesman.” Someone who most of us call a “right-wing ‘king’ nut.”
While addressing a fund-raising gathering at George Wythe University in Cedar City, Utah, on May 30, 2009, via satellite, Romney had this to say about that honorable “statesman, “I am pleased to be with you this evening, at least by video, at this event honoring the cause of building statesmen on behalf of George Wythe University . I wish my schedule had allowed me to be there in person this evening. This newly renovated Utah State Capitol is a fitting location for a discussion on statesmanship and the principles, values and education that make up those who can be called statesmen.”
Romney continued his praises, “I salute you in this room tonight—we’re all united in moving forward the cause of liberty and building men and women of virtue and wisdom, diplomacy and courage, which is part of the mission of a statesman and the university itself.”
Here he delivered the pièce de résistance, “Today you’re in for a special treat. I am honored to introduce to you a man who is really making an impact in our country today. His voice is heard by millions on the radio and he is seen on TV—he’s probably one of the most popular host you have on TV today—his approach is refreshing and he tries to focus his message on actions. On actually making a difference by learning the principles of freedom and liberty, standing up and making your voice heard, on reading and applying the wisdom of our nation’s founders to the challenges of today.”
“I am proud therefore to introduce to you, my friend and a statesman in his own right, Glenn Beck—you’re the best Glenn, show them how it’s done.”
Yes, it that Beck, the right-wing "king nut,” not someone else who happened to be saddled with the same name. Romney is practically drooling out lofty commendations to Beck, one of the former rabble rousing "Friends" over at Fox Network-- who was sent packing because he probably became too hot to handle. That’s saying a lot, for loony and extreme are what the F-Network usually peddles. So to cut ties with Beck is monumental.
But here we have the presidential hopeful giving an intro befitting a “statesman” and a leader of the cause, calling him “friend.” The same Glenn Beck who has called President Obama "Hitler," "a Nazi," "a Communist," "a Socialist," among other things.
Now what were they loudly raging over about a week ago on that very Network? (See it here: http://youtu.be/FBnG3bFr4vA). Oh yeah, they were having a collective fit over the “liberal media” not reporting president Obama’s “radical speech” at Hampton University in 2007 and his intro of his then friend Reverend Jeremiah Wright, that other “un-American” black man. Even though the media did report it and they Fox, had done so extensively at the time. Sean Hannity even asked the question, "Who is the real Obama?"
So it is only fair that I ask, "Who is the real Mitt Romney?"
