The iPhone 4S brought Siri into the hands of millions who never imagined that they might have more conversations with their phone than with the people who called them on it.

With the release of the iPhone 5 rumored to be sometime in October 2012, Mac loyalists can only wonder what Siri will say with an upgrade in the iPhone 5?

Siri is more than artificial intelligence. She is an office assistant, advisor, navigator, and most talkative best friend to those who have spent hours trying to test her abilities and/or confuse her. Despite efforts to throw Siri off track, she has remained the most cooperative non-human most people have contact with, even if she won't give you directions to an abortion clinic in New York.

Apple has taken cell phone communication to a new level with Siri in the iPhone 4S, and if past performance is any indicator of what is to come, Siri may take iPhone 5 users even further than the iCloud.

Maybe Siri will learn to sing? Change the TV channel for you? Or perhaps she will be able to pick lottery numbers (no guarantee they will be winners, but you never know.) Could Siri become a personal therapist? "And how does that make you feel?"

There may come a day when Siri will no longer say, "I'm sorry, I don't understand" or "I don't know what you mean......" and that day may arrive in October 2012.

Okay Siri, now how about that foot massage...and while you're at it, how about making me dinner?
